Day Fourteen: June 2 2013

I woke up exhausted. I didn't sleep well. The sunrise was so so so beautiful though, and that made me smile. The desert is so nice in the morning. It’s not hot and the world seems still. I woke up to birds chirping. It's quiet. I feel good.

After a quick stretch, we packed up camp, and came into town for breakfast. A quick interenet connection update and bill payments and then to plan the day. We are thinking of seeing a movie today and then biking in the evening.

I think we sat in McDonalds for 2 hours using their free wifi. Good old Mickie D’s.

Around 2pm, we bought some items to fix our trucks toppers back window. It busted and we needed to make something to fixed it. Gorilla tape, aluminum wire sheets and tuck tape did the trick. It's pretty slick... and we'll have to make sun blockers for the sides of the topper too. It's just TOO hot in the sun, and any time you can block it, the better.

Around 2:30pm, we decided to head back up to Gooseberry Mesa to fix our truck in the +36 degree weather and then head to bike the trails. The trail was awesome!! Rode the Hidden Canyon, South Rim and North Rim. Very awesome. We were hot as hell afterwards, we both stripped down and showered. No one was around, so getting naked was good shit. :)

We drove to St. George, and we splurged. It's too hot. We are staying in a hotel this evening. A break from the heat, a good shower and a comfy bed sounded too temping. It's just too hot to camp, we are tired as hell. Tomorrow is climbing!! We needed our rest.

The air conditioning was great. We did end up having a proper shower and slept in a huge bed. It was luxury!
