HAPPY JUNE!
Woke up in Zion and it was DAMN windy. We decided against
hiking today. We figured that we would push on, and get biking in Hurricane. We packed up the tent and
made a quick stop to a coffee shop outside the National Park. Then something CRAZY happened...
I ran into Trevor Linden in the coffee shop. It was hilarious. I walked in and made eye contact. My brain thought... I know this person... and then it clicked. We had met back in 2010, in Whistler. I actually ended up asking his wife if 'her husband's name was Trevor'. Funny and awesome thing: He
remembered me! Small crazy world. It was
nice to catch up and share stories. We wished each other the best and parted ways. Awesome.
Ben and I drove all the way to Hurricane to check out the town and bike trails. This place looks awesome. We are both stoked to ride. After a quick stop in McDonalds for internet, we decided to drive the 120miles to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Ben had never seen the Grand Canyon, so it should be a good day! J

It seemed farter away then first expected, but we finally
made it after 2 hours. The Grand Canyon never ceases to amazing me. I’ve seen
it four times now. From the South rim, the North rim and from a birds eye view
from a plane. It still leaves me breathless. What a massive scar on the earth.. so neat. Ben enjoyed it too.
We made the long drive back to hurricane after spending a couple hours at the Grand Canyon. Pulling our bikes out to tune 'em, we found out my bike was a little broken. The rear shock seems to have been blown. I am assuming I did this on the Magnificent 7 ride. After much distress and pondering, we headed to the local bike shop. They couldn't fix it on the spot, as they would have to order the parts the shock needed. So, I ended buying a new one for $175 – stupid money - BUT this shock is AWESOMER and my bike is super smooth and slick. My old Rockshock seemed lagging and slow anyways. This new Fox one is great. I am going to be sending my old shock back to them to get it fixed. Then I'll sell it..
Long day. We were grumpy and tired. We bought food – made food – found camp on Gooseberry Mesa - set up camp – sleep. Campsite was
beautiful and we slept just fine.
